Kimber has introduced the CDS9 (Covert Double Stack 9mm) series, enhancing their Micro 1911 platform with increased capacity and modern features. The CDS9 is designed for everyday carry, offering a micro-compact, high-capacity handgun with an all-metal frame. It is optics-ready, featuring an accessory rail for lights or lasers, and comes with ambidextrous safety and slide release, as well as a reversible magazine release. The CDS9 is available in two models: the standard CDS9 (OR) (RL) and the CDS9 (OR) (RL) (TFS), which includes a threaded barrel for suppressor compatibility. Both models support 10, 13, and 15-round magazines, providing flexibility for concealed carry preferences. The CDS9 series incorporates a dual recoil spring assembly, enhancing durability with a service life of up to 10,000 rounds. It features a flat-faced trigger with a vertical break point, contributing to a crisp and consistent trigger pull. The slide is constructed from stainless steel with a KimPro II finish, and the frame is made from aluminum, ensuring a lightweight yet robust build. The pistol is equipped with TAG Fiber Lock front sights and black fixed rear sights, providing clear sight alignment. The VZ Frag pattern G10 grip panels offer a secure and comfortable hold. With an overall length of 6.2" and a weight of 20.8 oz (empty), the CDS9 is designed for easy concealment without compromising performance.
